At Wootils, your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains what data we collect (spoiler: almost none) and how our tools work.
1. Client-Side Processing
All Wootils tools run entirely in your web browser. When you use a tool — whether it's the password generator, JSON formatter, or any other tool — your data is processed locally on your device using JavaScript. No data is sent to our servers.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal, non-personal data:
- Basic analytics: We may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that collect anonymized page views. This data cannot identify individual users.
- No cookies for tracking: We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party trackers.
- No personal information: We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any personally identifiable information.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Passwords you generate or test
- JSON, text, or code you format or edit
- Images you resize or convert
- QR codes you create
- Any input you provide to any tool
Your data stays in your browser and is discarded when you close the page.
4. Third-Party Services
Wootils may use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare: For hosting and CDN delivery. Cloudflare may collect basic request metadata (see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy).
- Google Fonts: For typography. Google may collect basic usage data when fonts are loaded.
5. External API Calls
Some tools (like the currency converter or IP lookup) may make API calls to fetch live data. These requests go directly from your browser to the respective API provider and do not pass through Wootils servers. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these external services.
6. Local Storage
Some tools may use your browser's localStorage to save preferences (like theme or language settings). This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
7. Children's Privacy
Wootils does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal data from any user, this is inherently satisfied.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
